Product overview

iwocaPay is an online payment method for trade customers.

Your customers choose whether to settle up there and then, or spread the cost over 30-day, 3-month, or 12-month terms — and you get paid instantly every time.

iwocaPay supports four payment options for your customers:

  • Pay Now — instant bank transfer at checkout. Free for both you and your customer.*
  • Pay Later, in full in 30 days — one instalment paid in full after 30 days. You choose whether you or your customer covers the cost.
  • Pay Later, in 3 monthly instalments — three monthly instalments. You choose whether you or your customer covers the cost.
  • Pay Later, in 12 monthly instalments — twelve monthly instalments. You choose whether you or your customer covers the cost.

* Pay Now is not available for our Shopify plugin.

In your iwocaPay dashboard, you can configure which Pay Later terms you offer. You can also configure your pricing, choosing either free for your customer or free for you, for each term:

  • Free for your customer (recommended) — Your customer pays no interest; you pay a fixed percentage of the order value.
  • Free for you — Your customer pays the interest; you pay nothing.

This is an introduction to what iwocaPay can do. Availability and behaviour vary by integration method — see the individual guides for Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, Xero, or the Custom integration for detail.

  • Order creation: Create orders programmatically (API, plugins) or manually in the iwocaPay dashboard (pay links).
  • Order retrieval: Query the status of an order at any time. The API returns order status directly; plugins sync status to your platform automatically.
  • Webhooks: Get real-time notifications when an order’s status changes (for example, approved, successful, unsuccessful). Available via the API. Some plugins (for example WooCommerce) also use webhooks internally to keep order status in sync automatically.
  • Cancellations: Cancel an order that hasn’t reached a terminal state. Via the API, send a DELETE request to the order endpoint. In plugins, cancellation behaviour depends on the platform.
  • Refunds: Contact your Account Manager for any refunds, except on Shopify, where refunds follow the standard Shopify refund flow.
  • Credit limits: Each customer is assessed for a credit limit during their first checkout. Returning customers can transact up to their existing limit without a new assessment. Customers can also pre-apply via a Spending Limit Link.
  • Reconciliation: Match iwocaPay payments against your orders. The API supports webhook-based and polling-based reconciliation. Plugins handle this automatically by updating the order status in your platform.
  • Customer communication: iwocaPay manages all customer-facing emails and SMS throughout the payment lifecycle, including approval notifications, payment reminders, and repayment confirmations. You can supplement this with your own communication.
  • Payment options: Choose which payment terms (30 days, 3 months, 12 months) and pricing structure you offer, via the iwocaPay dashboard.
  • Reporting: View transaction history and order data in the iwocaPay dashboard.
